Rodney L. Petersen, Boston, MA
Rodney L. Petersen, PhD serves as executive director of The Lord’s Day Alliance of the U.S., and as executive director of Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries in Boston. Prior to coming to these positions he was executive director of the Boston Theological Institute (BTI), and co-founder of the Religion and Conflict Transformation program centered at Boston University School of Theology. He has taught in BTI member schools, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, Illinois), and Webster University (Geneva, Switzerland), and worked with churches in France, Eastern Europe, and the U.S. Dr. Petersen is, or has been, a member of several non-profits, including the Massachusetts Council of Churches, the Inter-Religious Center on Public Life, Sec/treasurer, American Society of Missiology, member, PCUSA General Assembly Committee on Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Relations and numerous other academic and ecclesiastical organizations. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Camp Wilmot Camping Association (New Hampshire). His extensive bibliography includes Sunday, Sabbath and the Weekend; Managing Time in a Global Culture; Earth at Risk: An Environmental Dialogue between Religion and Science; Formation for Life: Just Peacemaking and 21st Century Discipleship, and he served as general editor of Religion at Harvard, 1636-1992. He is married to Rebecca Sommer Petersen, and they have three sons and a daughter.
James Hornsby, Valdosta, GA
James (Jim) Hornsby has served as the Art Director of Sunday Magazine since 2004. He currently is employed as professor art at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA, where he has taught graphic design-related classes at Valdosta State for the past nineteen years. Prior to teaching, Jim worked for the Baptists Brotherhood Commission, an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention, where he became director of the department of art during his 23 year tenure with the Brotherhood Commission. Jim is married to Karen Hornsby and during their 44 years of marriage they have raised two children. Jim will be retiring from university life in June and is looking forward to this next chapter of opportunities and service.
